BIO

WalktheTalk is the new musical incarnation of Will Halliday who left Australia in 2003 to go discover the world with the spirit of the wandering troubadour. With passport, travel diary, guitar and a severe case of wanderlust he set off across the seven seas. And like the best travel writers he has been able to capture the spirit of the people and places on the journey through this musical travelogue. The “Wanderlust” album will be released 30 November2006 in France, UK & Australia A hushed bedroom poet & bearded beatnik who sings with ‘quietude and grace'. The album has a low-key antique charm, with music more sparse than earlier albums. A low-fi but soulful sound that inhabits a strangely different place with songs a sepia tinted blend of neo-folk, country, desert rock & subtle electronic tints.

Recorded in a month with musical friends such as Goldenboy (who has played with the likes of Beck, Elliott Smith, the Eels, Neil Finn) in a ‘petit' chateaux in the french countryside with large open fire places, big comfy chairs, an ocean of good red wine, foie gras and jazz cigarettes. The intimate, smokey, candle lit ambiance of the music comes through like darkly delicious chocolate and a good foot massage.

The songs on Wanderlust are full of wistful, bruised romanticism which beguiles us with sweet melancholic harmonies. Suffering has never been made to feel so good. In a world over stocked with the singer songwriter breed here is one who quietly deserves to stand out.
